Valencia Orange Tree for Sale

The Valencia Orange Tree is the most widely grown orange variety in the world and the benchmark for juicing oranges. If you love a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning, then a Valencia Orange Tree is an absolute must for your garden!

Valencia oranges are renowned for their exceptional juice content, sweet flavour, beautiful bright orange skin, and very few seeds. They are the orange of choice for juice production worldwide, and the difference in flavour between a freshly squeezed Valencia and carton orange juice is quite remarkable.

Beyond juicing, Valencia oranges are also excellent for eating fresh, adding to salads, making marmalade, and using in cooking and baking. The thin, smooth skin produces excellent zest.

The Valencia Orange Tree is a beautiful, evergreen tree with glossy dark green leaves and highly fragrant white blossoms that fill the garden with a wonderful citrus perfume. It is a productive, long-lived tree that will reward you with abundant harvests for decades.

Our Valencia Orange Trees for sale are grafted onto suitable citrus rootstock, ensuring earlier fruiting, consistent quality, and more vigorous, disease-resistant trees compared to seed-grown specimens.

Orange Tree - Valencia

Appearance

Medium to large, round to oval orange with smooth, thin, bright orange skin when fully ripe. The flesh is very juicy, deep orange in colour, sweet and rich with very few seeds. Excellent for both juicing and eating fresh.

Harvest Time

Late season harvest – August to November, making it one of the last citrus varieties to ripen and extending the citrus season.

Year to Bear

These are grafted trees so they can produce fruit in the first year of planting!

Growth Rate

Moderate growing. Can reach 4–5m if left unpruned. Responds well to pruning and can be maintained at a more compact size for easy harvesting.

Container Friendly?

Valencia Orange Trees grow well in large containers and make an attractive, productive patio or balcony tree in a warm, sunny position.

Sunlight

The Valencia Orange Tree grows best in full sun – at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight per day. More sunlight generally means sweeter, better-flavoured fruit.

Watering

Moderate, consistent watering is best. Water once a week by thoroughly soaking the root zone. Avoid waterlogging as citrus roots dislike sitting in wet soil. Container-grown trees may need more frequent watering in hot weather.

Temperature

Frost sensitive – protect from frost, especially when young. Established trees can tolerate a very brief, light frost but prolonged cold will damage the tree. Grow in a warm, sheltered, frost-free position wherever possible.

Chilling

No winter chilling required. The Valencia Orange is an evergreen citrus tree that fruits without a cold period. Warm conditions ripen the fruit, while cooler nights improve colour.

Pollination Info

Valencia Orange Trees are self-fertile and do not require a pollinating partner to produce fruit. A single tree will produce an abundant harvest of delicious oranges each season.

Planting & Care Guide

Plant in well-drained soil enriched with compost in a warm, sunny, sheltered position. Citrus trees are sensitive to waterlogging so excellent drainage is essential.

Feed regularly with a specialised citrus fertiliser from early spring through to autumn to encourage healthy growth and a heavy fruit set. Remove any rootstock suckers immediately as they appear.

Light pruning in spring maintains shape and removes dead or crossing branches.
