Arbequina Olive Tree for Sale
Arbequina is one of the world's most planted olive oil varieties, originating in Catalonia, Spain. Fruit is small, early-ripening and produces high-quality aromatic oil. Unlike many olives, Arbequina is largely self-fertile — a single tree can crop well, though a second variety nearby still helps.
Trees are naturally more compact than large Italian oil varieties, which suits home gardens and large containers. Once established, olives are exceptionally drought-tolerant evergreen specimens with silvery foliage and gnarled character as they age.
Plant in full sun with excellent drainage. Avoid wet feet. Light spring feeding and formative pruning keep the tree productive.
Appearance
Small early-ripening olives that turn dark when mature. Excellent oil quality; also used for table fruit when cured.

Early olive season — typically autumn, ahead of many later Italian varieties.

Low to moderate chilling helps flowering; olives need some winter cool but dislike extreme wet cold.
Pollination Info
Largely self-fertile — one of the better single-tree olive choices. Yields still improve with a compatible pollinator nearby (e.g. Frantoio or Leccino).
Planting & Care Guide
Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Olives dislike wet feet and are remarkably drought-tolerant once established. Avoid rich, nitrogen-heavy soils that push soft leafy growth at the expense of fruiting.
Feed lightly in spring with a balanced fertiliser. Do not overfeed.
Prune lightly after harvest to open the canopy and remove dead wood. Olives respond well to formative pruning when young.
Water young trees regularly for the first two summers. Established trees need little supplemental water except in prolonged drought.
