Nova Naartjie Tree for Sale

The Nova Mandarin is a high-quality naartjie type for gardeners who want juicy, aromatic fruit with a richer flavour than a plain easy-peeler. It is a Clementine mandarin crossed with Orlando tangelo, which gives the fruit a good balance of sweetness, acidity and fragrance.

Nova fruit ripens to a deep orange colour and is usually medium-sized with a thin, slightly pebbled rind. The peel is not always as loose as a Satsuma, but the fruit rewards you with excellent flavour, plenty of juice and a lovely mandarin aroma.

This is a good eating citrus for fresh snacks, lunchboxes, juice blends, fruit salads and desserts. The flavour has enough brightness to make it more interesting than a very mild mandarin.

Nova is self-fertile, so one tree can produce fruit on its own. Seediness can vary depending on nearby citrus pollination, so fruit may be seedless or may develop seeds if other compatible citrus trees are flowering close by.
