Genoa Lemon Tree for Sale

The Genoa Lemon is a classic Italian variety that originated in Genoa as a natural mutation of the Eureka cultivar, and it has proved enormously popular wherever it has been grown. Compared to the Eureka, the Genoa is bushier and more compact, with fewer thorns, an earlier fruiting season and notably better cold tolerance — making it the preferred lemon for gardens where mild winter frost is a possibility.

The fruit itself is impressive. Genoa lemons are notably large — often bigger than Eureka lemons — with smooth, bright yellow skin and very juicy, aromatic flesh. They hold well on the tree and can be picked as needed from mid-winter onwards.

Like all lemon trees, the Genoa is self-fertile and does not need a companion tree to produce fruit. It grows exceptionally well in containers, making it an ideal choice for smaller gardens, patios or balconies. In the ground, give it excellent drainage, regular feeding with a citrus fertiliser, and a warm, sunny position.
