The Eureka Lemon Tree is an evergreen tree with beautiful, glossy dark green foliage and fragrant white blossoms that fill the garden with a wonderful citrus scent. It is a compact, attractive tree that looks equally at home in a pot on the patio or planted in the garden border.
Our Eureka Lemon Trees for sale are grafted onto citrus rootstock, which encourages earlier fruiting, better fruit quality, and more disease-resistant trees compared to seed-grown specimens.
One of the great advantages of the Eureka Lemon Tree is that it is an almost year-round bearer of fruit, with the main harvest season running from autumn through to spring. It produces few seeds and the fruit holds well on the tree, so you can pick lemons as you need them.
Appearance
Medium to large, oval to oblong lemon with bright, glossy yellow skin when fully ripe. The flesh is very juicy and highly acidic with few to no seeds. The rind is moderately thick and very fragrant.
Harvest Time
Almost year-round bearing with peak harvest from May to September.

These are grafted trees so they can produce fruit in the first year of planting!
Growth Rate
Moderate growing. Can reach 3–4m if left unpruned. Responds well to pruning and can be kept compact for easy harvesting or container growing.
Container Friendly?
Eureka Lemon Trees grow very well in containers and are an excellent choice for gardeners with limited space. A large pot on a sunny patio or balcony is ideal.
Watering
Moderate and consistent watering is best. Water once a week by thoroughly soaking the root zone, then allow the soil to partially dry before the next watering. Avoid waterlogging. Container-grown trees may need more frequent watering in hot weather.
Temperature
Frost sensitive – protect from frost, especially when young. Established trees can tolerate a light, brief frost but prolonged cold will damage the tree. Grow in a warm, sheltered, frost-free position where possible.
Chilling
No winter chilling required. The Eureka Lemon is an evergreen citrus tree that fruits without a cold dormancy period. It grows and fruits best in warm, frost-protected positions.
Pollination Info
Eureka Lemon Trees are self-fertile and do not require a pollinating partner to produce fruit. A single tree will give you a wonderful harvest of lemons year after year.
Planting & Care Guide
Plant in well-drained soil enriched with compost in a warm, sunny, sheltered position. Citrus trees do not like cold, wet roots so excellent drainage is essential.
Feed regularly with a specialised citrus fertiliser from early spring through to autumn to encourage healthy growth and fruit production.
Light pruning can be done in spring to maintain shape and remove dead or crossing branches. Remove any suckers from the rootstock immediately.
